Little Moab Trip Report, Feb 2009

Little Moab is a great place to get out with family to ride, camp, and hang out. The weather cooperated and made for a really enjoyable weekend. We took some rockets with us and launched them a few times, and also did some target shooting with BB and air soft guns for the kids. All our machines worked great. Brayden and Owen are getting pretty good at jumping their dirt bikes. Owen even did some rock crawling with his, but I'll let him put that on his blog.   5. Haven't been out to Moab yet, but I did find something that would work great to get all of your gear out there. I've been hunting around for something to haul mine and my kids dirtbikes for when we hit the road to go riding. I don't have a truck, so my hauling capabilities were fairly limited (along w/ budget) I ended up driving by a U-Haul and I saw they are selling their old off-rental box trucks. I ended up getting a 95 24' Ford box truck for around $3500 and it's worked out great!! It's heavy duty, I don't have to worry about driving it through tough country and I can fit mine & the kids' dirtbikes without a problem. They also have a website, uhaul.com/trucksales, that is a good place to start looking at their box trucks for sale.

  6. Sounds like it would work great! Great idea. Our trailer use to be a race car hualer. We stripped an old motorhome for parts and built it into a toy hauler. At the time it was one of the few toy haulers big enough to carry our full size rock crawler. You don't want to spend too much on unnecessary frills when you need money for the necessities..(the toys)

  10. Little Moab has been postponed till it dries out!! This rain is unbelievable! The plan is to head out next weekend.

  11. How much has it been raining in Syracuse and Ephraim? It's nice over here, really humid though but nice. I wonder if they are still having this race in Deer Valley today. Sandy died yesterday at the boarding. Mike buried her in Hyrum.

  13. It's been raining pretty much every day for like 10 days. Yesterday was a break(Friday), more rain for the next couple days at least, and dry up by Tuesday or Wednesday. Some people from work were in Ephraim on Thursday for a meeting and said it didn't rain till they were on their way back. It hasn't been raining south of Provo as much as up North. We rode bikes this morning and it sprinkled on us and it's overcast..the forecast is for more rain this afternoon.

She was at the boarding kennel in Clinton and she had her operation on removing warts on her eyelids and the anesthesia was too strong for her and she died....so Mike and Laura got her lastnight and buried her in their backyard and planted a tree above her. We knew that you guys couldn't bury her in your backyard(city law I guess). It's fun here at Karen's, it's been thunder storming here too but not as bad as Utah though. I went on a bike ride last Thursday and I am again going today. Very humid, you sweat like it's pouring you like in a shower.
