We've had mixed results with Knolls in the past including severe winds, punctured tires, getting the truck/trailer stuck in the sand, run-ins with the rangers etc. This time however,
despite some colder than average temps on Saturday, I think we saw a little glimmer of hope and ended up having a better than average trip here. We arrived Friday evening to warm temps and were able to ride quite a bit before the sun set. Saturday, we woke up to blowing snow that dusted the sand, but it didn't cause a problem for riding and melted off by noon.
We put up a wind screen and built a fire after deciding we didn't want to sit in the trailer any more. There was a race going on in the area, but it didn't cause a problem at all and it turned out to be fun to run the course when it wasn't in use. The wind blew all night Saturday, but we woke up to a beautiful Sunday and rode the race course before lunch. The only downside on Sunday was a little spill I took that knocked the wind out of me and actually knocked me unconscious for a few seconds. It really wasn't a big deal, but not something I'd really like to do again either. I suppose it's bound to happen sooner or later, but hopefully, it's later. Here's some pictures from the trip, Enjoy!
